The First Thones.
We started in 2021 after a Showrunner from America asked us to create something to hide the microphone for a big reality show that was about to be made.
After trying to use natural objects which you regularly see on necklaces, we found that that would be a short term solution. We decided to use 3D printers.
Also we used shoestrings to make the wire go through.
After this project we focussed on making this product look good for the production side, easy to install for the technical side and comfortable for the contestants.
Testing Fase
We tested all kinds of material in numerous ways. The jewel had to be strong but not too heavy. Easy to install and easy to open. Basically unbreakable. We acquired our own 3D printers to design and test as good and precise as we could.
Also the necklace needed a lot of time to find the right material which is very tough, but also easy to out a microphone through. As small as it could be but also protecting the microphone for number of situations the contestants put them in.
Version 25
In the end we created so many models and added so many changes to make our product the right fit for any circumstance and technical quest. We are still making the product better every day to reinsure that THONES will better your production.
Industrial 3D printing
All of our latest models are professionally printed on industrial 3D printers. This is to ensure durability and toughness.
Custom & handmade hip belts
Also the hip belts used in many reality TV shows needed a rethink. They are most of the time either very ugly and big or really not nice to wear for longer times. They become sweaty and start to hurt. The hip belts we created are perfect to be used by your contestants for longer times.. trust us, we tested it thoroughly.
